Finally! A breakfast treat that is gluten-free and soft. They come in a pack of six and they are frozen, which makes dealing with them fairly simple. 25 seconds in the microwave gives you a warm, chewy donut that is much like you would expect a donut to taste. Pair it with a nice mug of tea or a frosty glass of milk.

I'm not actually a huge fan of cinnamon, so cinnamon sugar wouldn't be my first choice for a donut flavor. But, when you are gluten-free sometimes beggars can't be choosers!! Although these donuts were denser than most regular donuts, I thought they were seriously tasty. I have to admit, however, that they were a bit smaller than I thought they would be when we took them out of the box. But, all in all, a nice pastry treat. I wonder if they make other flavors?

We got feedback from Kinnikinnick Foods! I have written them back to see if I can find out where to buy their other products - maple donuts sound fantastic! Here's what they said to us:
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info. Always interested to get feedback. Also you can tell Z that we also make chocolate dipped, vanilla dipped and maple dipped and they all taste great.
It looks like you might want to try our new S'Moreables (graham style cracker/cookie) for campfires, cheesecake and pie crusts. Also have you had a chance to check out our Kinni-TOOS (chocolate and vanilla sandwich cookies) which are going very well in the market?
